Littledean Football Club
Every Thursday after school our football team is coached by Mrs Tattersall, Miss Mace and Miss Pearson.
We have had the chance to play in local tournaments and friendly matches with other local primary schools.
Well it's been a busy couple of weeks for Littledean Football Club! We have finally managed to put all our hard work in training into real game time!

Firstly on the 2nd May we took 8 year 5/6's to the small schools tournament up at Newent Secondary School. We were in a group of 5, with all four other schools coming from around the Forest of Dean.
In our group, we placed joint second, only losing out on goal difference. You had to top the group to progress any further, but we played our hearts out and very much deserved our second placing. The team played with determination and a never give up attitude. To finish joint second in a group of 5 is amazing and a testament to how far these children have come. Most that we took that day have been at football club since it started 3 years ago. They did themselves and our school proud. So well done to Toby, Owain, Freddie, Hollie, Jake, Scott, Callum and Veerun.
On the 12th May, we then took another 8 children to St Whites school to play a friendly. We were told before hand that they were playing a year 5 & 6 team of boys only! But in the interest of fairness we needed to take some of our club that had not gone to the tournament. We knew it was going to be a tough game, and it was. We were a mixed bunch of ages taking a mix of year 3 to 6. St Whites have a fabulous pitch and facilities and it was great for our children to sample this! It was a hard game and the standard from St Whites was exceptional.
Although the result didn't go our way, our children showed what Littledean is about! Perseverance and a never give up attitude! In that game the children learnt a lot about the game of football and what it's like to play on a proper pitch. We couldn't have been more proud of how they conducted themselves!! So for this game a huge congratulations goes to Toby Sampson, Connor GT, Aron Asher, Thomas Tattersall, Joseph Horrobin, Bethan McCarthy, Owen Neal and Derin Pflug.

Many thanks must also go to Miss Pearson and Miss White who both supported myself and the football club on attending these events.

None of this can happen without the support of all the parents and family members of our children. Without your time and committment we couldn't do these events. So many thanks to everyone involved with Littledean C of E Primary School Football Club.
Mrs Tattersall.
