December 2018

1st December 2018
Christmas festivities have officially started in the school.  The Christmas tree is up, the infants are busy practicing for their Christmas performances and the classes are beavering away making cards and decorations.
Friends Christmas Fair
A huge thank you to our Friends Committee for the fabulous Christmas Fair that they organised for Friday evening.  There was a great assortment of stalls and a visit from a very special person!  It looks like over £500 was raised for the school - which is amazing - thank you all who attended.
Rock Steady Concert
We were treated to an amazing rock concert performed by the groups of children who have been attended Rock Steady music sessions.  It was great to see how much they have progressed and how confident they all were performing on the stage.
Infant Christmas Performances
Parents, families and friends were treated to two performances of our infant Christmas productions of Lights! Camel! Action! and Christmas Eve in the Toy Shop.  The children (and adults) worked so hard to learn all the songs and actions - we are very proud of all of them.
Infant Christmas Craft Day
All of the infant children spent the whole day doing Christmas based craft activities.  They baked gingerbread men, decorated Christmas baubles and made Christmas cards.  It was great fun and lots of lovely treats were made for the children to take home.
Christmas Dinner
We all thoroughly enjoyed sharing Christmas dinner together as a whole school.
Junior Disco
A big thank you to our Friends Committee for organising a disco for the junior children.
Afternoon of Fun
Congratulations to the Foxes and Badgers who have both won the house cup this term in what proved to be a very close competition resulting in joint winners.  They are busy celebrating by having an afternoon of fun hosted by Miss Haines.
Mrs Lyons took a group of children to an athletic event held at Dene Magna Secondary School.  The children had the opportunity to take part in a range of different athletic events throughout their time there and they represented the school brilliantly!  Well done!
