To enable us to support these events we run the Christmas Fayre which this year is on Thursday 8th December. In preparation for the Christmas Fayre, it’s that time of year where we run non-uniform days in return for donations.
After discussions at meetings we have decide to freshen up aspects of this as it was felt we have done the same thing for a bit too long now! So, for the Christmas Fayre, the non-uniform days are going to have dress codes! (If you would prefer for your child to just come in non-uniform this is still fine!) The dates are as follows:
Friday 18th November – fancy-dress theme of any variety in return for ‘smellies’ (i.e. bubble bath, shower gel, soap, candles, perfume etc) for a new stall we are running instead of the chocolate stall.
Friday 25th November – Pyjama (PJ) day, in return for bottles for the bottle stall.
Friday 2nd December – Christmas Jumper day in return for a firm favourite, the Jingle Jar. For our new parents this is where you decorate and fill a clean jar with sweets, little toys or Christmas bits, these go on the Jingle Jar stall.
Our next Friends meeting will be on 11th November for discussions around the Christmas Fayre, this will be at 9.00 am in the staff room. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to help on the actual day of the fayre, whether this is running a stall, or helping set up and clear down please just grab Shelly Averis, Emma Tattersall, Marie Williams or Josie Wilman in the playground! Any and all help is much appreciated.
Chair - Shelley Averis
Treasurer - Emma Tattersall
Secretary - Marie Williams
We enjoy the support of an active, hardworking parents, teachers and friends association in our school. They organise numerous events during the school year including children's discos, Christmas and Easter get-togethers and our very popular Summer Fayre.
The emphasis is not always about raising money, they provide opportunities for everyone to get together and enjoy themselves. In addition they help by providing refreshments at school events.
The money they raise is used for the benefit of all the children at Littledean School and Little Acorns Nursery. In recent years they have purchased presents for year 6 leavers, subsidised transport for school trips reducing the contributions we ask from individual parents, subsidised productions by theatre groups, outside play equipment and have assisted the school in upgraded our computer equipment.
New members to the Friends are always welcome so please consider it!

SUMMER FAIR 2015
A huge thank you to all our families, friends and neighbours who supported us with our summer fair. Despite variable weather we raised just over £1000. Thank you.
A successful Easter coffee morning raised £56.00, many thanks to those who donated cakes and those that came into school to enjoy eating them. The sponsored Bunny Bounce was successful (please see events page for the pictures) and it looks like we will be raising in the region of £1000, which will go towards creating a mosaic of the new school logo at the rear of the school.
Thank you for supporting us.
On Saturday 18th May our Friends association organised a trip to climb to the top of Mount Snowdon in loving memory of our friend and colleague Annie Havard who lost her battle to cancer at the end of last year. All monies donated will be split between the school and Cross Roads Care who supported Annie and here family through her illness. Donations can be made through http://www.justgiving.com/Snowdon-Friends
The total raised so far (September 2013) is a staggering £6110.12 – which will be split between the Friends and Cross Roads Care. The Friends will be purchasing a gruffalow bench and assisting the school to upgrade their computer equipment.
Following our successful Christmas Fair and Fund Raising activities throughout last year the Committee have donated £250 to each class to enhance the curriculum. Some classes are having specialists into the classroom and some classes are taking children out on visits
