Attendance at School

Good attendance is celebrated at Littledean C of E School. Children who have attended 100% each term will be presented with a certificate during our celebration assembly. Children who have attended for 98% and above will be rewarded with certificates and prizes at the end of the school year.

Remember that school starts at 8.40 and ends at 3.00. Prompt delivery and collection of children will help them form good routines for later in life.

If you arrive in school after 8.40 please use the main entrance doors and report your child’s attendance at the office.

If your child is ill and unable to attend school please ring the school before 9.00 if possible. An answer machine is available for you to leave a message.

Due to changes in legislation as of 1st September 2013 the school is no longer able to authorise holidays in term time except in exceptional circumstances. All requests for absence from school must be put in writing to the head teacher detailing the reason for absence. Where absences are unauthorised warning letters and penalty notices will be issued.

The full Attendance Policy is available below on the School Policy tab or from the school office.
