Welcome to Littledean Church Of England Primary School’s website, we hope you find it useful and informative. We are a small, rural, village primary school of 84 pupils situated in the beautiful Forest of Dean, one mile outside of the small town of Cinderford and approximately 14 miles from Gloucester. Originally built in 1848, Littledean School was refurbished in 1994 to meet the demands of a modern education. Our grounds have been set up to encourage children’s investigative skills and desire to explore their environment. It includes a garden, forest school area, pond area, trim trail and outdoor gym equipment.

At Littledean Church of England Primary School we place children at the centre of all we do and our school motto is ‘Loving one another, building each other up', based on the following bible verses:

‘I give you a new commandment that you love one another.’ John 13:34

‘You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.’ 1 Peter 2:5

Our Vision

Our vision is to enable our children, staff and families to build each other up through living out our Christian Values and our love for one another, encouraging those at the school and in the wider community to develop their full potential: academically, socially and spiritually.

Our Values

Our overarching value is LOVE, through which we encompass through our teaching and practice of the following Christian Values for Life: Respect, Trust, Truthfulness, Forgiveness, Generosity, Justice, Friendship, Perseverance, Courage, Compassion, Service and Thankfulness.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, where every member of the school community is loved, valued and respected. We endeavour to build every member of our community up to be the best that they can possibly be, celebrating success in whatever form that takes.

In our most recent Ofsted Report (April 2024) it was noted that 'The school’s overarching value of love is brought to life through the school’s caring and inclusive environment. Pupils are polite and courteous. They feel well cared for by staff and know whom to go to for help. This helps them feel safe'

In October 2022 we received a judgement of Good for our SIAMS inspection, where it was noted ' Littledean Church of England Primary is an inclusive school, where everyone is loved, valued and respected. Strong Christian leadership ensures every member of the community is built up to be the best they can possibly be, celebrating success in whatever form that takes.'
